In reply to justabkaerthatlovesbaking. I'm so glad you enjoyed it overall! You could try reducing the honey as well. You can use Worcestershire sauce as well. Coconut aminos have a little sweetness to them. :)

really amazing recipe but i used a tsp of sugar in the tomato sauce topping and for some reason it was still sweet not sure why….. any ideas how to make it more on the tangy side?
we dont like it like it sweet otherwise its a 10/10
really amazing recipe and its my first time making meatloaf

I made this recipe use 1/2 cup fresh chopped parsley and all other ingredients were used as directed. It is the best recipe for meatloaf I have ever eaten.

I love this recipe: I used 1/2 a pepper with my onions and I swapped out oatmeal for panko. The sweet and sour sauce on top was a winner! Will definitely make always!

SSR has never stirred me wrong on a recipe so I all hands down, tried this last week and had to make a few substitutions of things I had in the house.
Instead of Panko crumbs, I used oatmeal and instead of milk. I used beef broth. I soaked as directed.
I added green bell pepper to make my onion one cup mixture
I also baked it in a left pan and use the times.
This was the best meatloaf I’ve made in 42 years. My husband commented in fact it’s all gone in four days just between the two of us.
I’m handing off the recipe as it’s written to two ladies at church in my Sunday School class because I mentioned it and showed them the picture I took. They both commented that they never have been able to make a good meatloaf and would welcome a recipe. Thank you, Sam and SSR for your diligence in providing us with great recipes for the home cook.
