Hi Cathy! I haven’t personally tried using cherries instead of blueberries, but I think that would work. 🙂

Should I adjust any of the other ingredients to make this a workable recipe.
I look forward to hearing from you and thank you.

Hi Cathy! The streusel could work, but I prefer the topping here. I think the streusel could potentially over-brown a little bit. 🙂

I went berry picking yesterday and just made these for the first time earlier today. Yum! We are going to a gathering on Sunday and I plan to make them again to take along for dessert. I preordered your cookbook and look forward to getting it in December. I found a glass pan so didn’t have to use metal and mess with bake times. Thank you for yet another great recipe! (Your lemon tart was a hit for Easter!). Cheers!

I am honestly not sure that how that would work. I would be hesitant to advise on how it would turn out.

I made them with the frozen blueberries and added an extra tablespoon of cornstarch, since frozen blueberries have more liquid. They came out great!

Can I use this recipe in the fall with leftover canned jellied cranberry or would that be too weird? Would I just use the canned cranberry or add the sugar, salt, vanilla extract, butter, cornstarch, lemon juice? (My judgement in substitutions can be very bad at times!) Thank you so much!

Hi Alison! You can use a metal dish. Your bake time may change so just be sure to keep an eye on it. 🙂

I just wanted to ask if I can use froze. Blueberries?

I have used it on my blueberry muffins. I think I would like to try it on these bars too. What say you.

BAKE THIS…OMG! I am an experienced baker therefore a sweets snob. I have tried for years to find a blueberry bar that has some zip, zig and doesn’t just taste flat like blueberries and crust. I have baked from the most popular recipe websites and NONE have something as flavorful with zing and a great texture with the bit of “crunch” as the bottom layer. Do yourself and your family a favor and “get to baking!”

Hi Jody! I’m sorry for the confusion! I will correct that. The list below the steps just pulls from the ingredients listed above. You need 3 cups of blueberries in step 2 and the remaining 2 cups come in step 5. So you do need 5 cups total. 🙂

Please help, as I think this recipe sounds delicious!

(In small saucepan, combine 3 cups blueberries (505g), sugar, cornstarch, salt, and lemon juice over medium-low heat.)

(5 cups (840 g) blueberries, ½ cup (100 g) sugar, 2 Tablespoons cornstarch, ⅛ teaspoon salt, 1 Tablespoon lemon juice)
