Great recipe, the best I’ve ever eaten. I did use Brioche bread which was a softer, thicker crust. I added nutmeg as well as that’s a fav spice in my kitchen. Topped the cooked slices with a fruit spread vs syrup and it was sooooo tasty.

Hi, my first time to your site, and won’t be my last time.
Wow amazingly good French toast. The orange zest is brilliant, it adds a fresh zing in the background of the creamy, cinnamon flavor. I cut the recipe in half since there’s only two of us, but now I wish I made the full batch. I think leftover French toast would make a great Monte Cristo sandwich.
