In reply to amelia. Hi Amelia! I actually landed here after lots of testing. Dark brown sugar does work, but it makes the brownies more rich, almost over the top in my opinion, but it definitely works. If you try it let me know how it goes. :)

hey i love this recipe. have one question. is there a specific reason you chose light brown sugar instead of dark brown sugar? can i subtitute it with dark brown sugar? how will it affect the taste?

These brownies are the best I’ve ever made! I did increase 50% and used a 13×9 pan. They took 30 minutes, and they came out excellent!!

In reply to Eric. Hi Eric! If you make the recipe as is you can put it into a 13 x 9, but the brownies won't be quite as thick. I have done it this way and the bake time is 16-18 minutes. I'm not sure on the bake time if increasing the recipe by 50%. Just keep an eye on them as they bake. :)

Hi Sam when I increase the recipe by 50 percent and bake in a 13x9 pan would the bake time be 35 min ?

Today I had to get the recipe again because I didn't have it on my phone (weird right?) but I wanted you to know that my now 17yo son insisted I made these for his sports teams game night because they "Just have to taste your amazing brownies mom" thank you for making memories for me and my children that seem to hold fast and true long after they have physically outgrown me.
