I've got a brand new Christmas cookie recipe for you! Similar to my peppermint bark cookies, these chocolate peppermint thumbprint cookies are so festive and fun. We're pairing a soft, thick chocolate cookie base with a bright peppermint white chocolate filling and crunchy peppermint candy canes for texture.

Today's cranberry orange cake is a festive (and impressive) seasonal dessert that's a great alternative to pumpkin spice or peppermint. It has four layers of fluffy, orange-infused cake and three layers of bright cranberry sauce. Everything is wrapped in a semi-naked layer of orange cream cheese frosting, and if you want to go the extra mile, topped with a sprinkling of sugared cranberries.

Santa called, and he thinks you need to up your Christmas cookie game. Sure classic chocolate chip cookies are good, but the jolly old elf deserves something a bit more unique and festive on his big day, right? Make him one of these Christmas cookies recipes, and you will land a permanent spot on his "nice" list!

I first shared these almond crescent cookies a few years ago in my holiday cookie eBook. They are just simple, old-fashioned cookies, but my family requests I make them every year for Christmas. I can't say I blame them though--they are one of my favorites too!

So many of you have been asking for peppermint bark brownies, and after years of testing, I finally have a recipe for you! Here's what we landed on: fudgy, dark chocolate brownies with a candied, ganache-esque white chocolate/dark chocolate topping and crunchy candy canes on top. Think peppermint bark fudge meets brownies!

If you really want to show your sweetheart how much you care this Valentine's Day, skip the box of chocolates and make them something from the heart! My collection of Valentine's Day desserts offers something for everyone, whether you want to impress your partner, show your mom how much you appreciate her, or spoil yourself with some sweet and from-scratch self-love!

New Year's Eve traditions vary around the world, but all have one common element: FOOD! Whether it's eating 12 grapes in Spanish cultures or black eyed peas in the American south, we all like to welcome the new year with full bellies. Today's collection of New Year's Eve recipes includes some traditional foods (like Millionaire's shortbread, a NYE treat in Scotland), but also fancier desserts and appetizers for more elegant celebrations.

The newest addition to my Christmas desserts, these peppermint bark cupcakes are made with a rich dark chocolate cupcakes, silky smooth ganache, and a whipped white chocolate peppermint frosting. They are so festive and always a hit on Christmas day!

Squeezing in one more cookie recipe before Christmas! This is a very simple recipe for chocolate shortbread cookies. They might look similar to the chocolate sugar cookies I recently shared, but unlike those soft and chewy cookies, these chocolatey cookies are crisp and buttery! I love dunking them in melted chocolate, and even more than that, I like to add lots of nonpareil sprinkles, which gives them a nonpareil (or snowcaps!) feel. Yum!/p>]]> https://sugarspunrun.com/chocolate-shortbread-cookies/feed/ 10 https://sugarspunrun.com/eggnog-cookies/ https://sugarspunrun.com/eggnog-cookies/#comments Thu, 19 Dec 2024 13:00:00 +0000 https://sugarspunrun.com/?p=73352 My incredibly tender, melt-in-your-mouth eggnog cookies will be the star of your Christmas cookie tray! NO chilling and just 2 ingredients for the glaze! Recipe includes a how-to video.

While eggnog isn't my typical holiday drink of choice (I'm more of a hot chocolate kind of girl), I absolutely love it in these adorable eggnog cookies! I created this recipe as a fun and tasty way to enjoy eggnog or use up leftover eggnog (is there anyone out there who really finishes an entire half gallon?!)./p>]]> https://sugarspunrun.com/eggnog-cookies/feed/ 22 https://sugarspunrun.com/gingerbread-muffins/ https://sugarspunrun.com/gingerbread-muffins/#comments Wed, 18 Dec 2024 13:00:00 +0000 https://sugarspunrun.com/?p=73307 Soft and spiced gingerbread muffins are the perfect Christmas morning treat! My version makes tall, sugar-sparkled muffins with moist interiors. Recipe includes a how-to video!

A muffin twist on classic gingerbread, these gingerbread muffins are the perfect match for your Christmas morning coffee or hot cocoa. They are loaded with flavor and so moist with a soft, slightly dense texture (similar to my gingerbread).

Feeling naughty? Switch things up on Santa and give HIM coal this year! These coal cookies are unique and tasty, if not particularly pretty, cookies that you need to try this Christmas season. They make fun (and cheeky!) cookies for Santa, but can also be a sweeter way to give your kids coal for Christmas 😉

I don't know about you, but by the time Christmas rolls around, I'm eager to dig into Christmas desserts of the non-cookie variety. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Christmas cookies, but after weeks of prepping (and eating) cookie dough and freezing, eating, and gifting cookies (and cookie mix!), I'm ready for something a bit different.

While gingerbread men are usually my family's go-to Christmas cookies, we have absolutely fallen in love with these gingerbread sandwich cookies. They are perfectly spiced, thin, soft and chewy cookies sandwiched around the most delectable buttercream frosting. Similar to oatmeal cream pies in concept, but much more festive!

My latest cookie creation, these Christmas kiss cookies are simply my crinkle cookies dressed up for the holidays with seasonal Hershey kisses. They are so festive and tasty--one of my all-time favorite cookies (you know how I feel about chocolate)!

It's officially (chocolate) sugar cookie season! Based off my faithful original sugar cookie recipe, this is a reliable cookie recipe that bakes up beautifully with defined edges (no spreading!) and a rich chocolatey flavor.

Chocolate crinkle cookies (also called snowcaps) are one of my all-time favorite holiday cookies. My version has an amazingly fudgy texture that reminds me of brownies, only softer and slightly less dense. And covered in powdered sugar, of course!

These maple brown sugar cookies are one of my all-time favorite cookies. In fact, I love this recipe so much that it actually inspired me to create my super popular worst chocolate chip cookies after I realized how utterly amazing maple syrup tastes in cookie dough!

While I already have a rich, decadent hot chocolate recipe on the blog, it's not necessarily a quick treat. It’s the ultimate hot chocolate if you ask me, but it's also slightly fussier than ripping open a packet and pouring it in some hot water. Some days I want something that's just a little bit less complicated, but still chocolatey and flavorful. This hot cocoa recipe is my solution!

Today I'm transforming classic peppermint bark candy into a fun and festive holiday cake! This peppermint bark cake is a stunner and sure to be the star of your Christmas dessert table. The base is the same richly fudgy and chocolatey cake from my triple chocolate cake recipe, which we'll top with a peppermint-infused white chocolate frosting (a favorite of mine!). We'll cloak the whole thing in a dark chocolate ganache, and then pipe peppermint swirls to finish.

The Best Oatmeal Cookies

I've received so many requests for a bread pudding recipe, and I'm thrilled to be sharing my version just in time for Christmas! Made with enriched bread soaked in a sweet custard, this is a timeless and classic dessert, and for good reason. It's easy, deeply flavored, and incredibly comforting. It's a cozy hug of a dessert!

If you are looking for a Christmas cake without any peppermint or gingerbread, you simply must try my cranberry cake! It's flavored with pops of tart cranberries and a splash of both almond and vanilla extract. It's festive, but also fresh and so unique!

This is a super simple shortbread recipe made with just seven ingredients (including the icing!). Don't let its simplicity fool you though; these lemon meltaway cookies are bursting with flavor and taste so good, especially considering how few ingredients are needed. Plus, there's no chilling required!

A close cousin to the anise cookies I shared yesterday, these Italian cookies are a classic! This recipe was given to me by my grandmother's cousin, Janet. One of the main differences between yesterday's recipe and this recipe is the glaze; as Janet said (and was very clear about when sharing this recipe!), you need a clear glaze for real Italian cookies. As a result, today's glaze is not nearly as thick as the icing I shared yesterday.
