Hello baker friend!
Thank you so much for this amazing recipe. I was googling what else I could bake with ripe bananas other than banana bread and I stumbled upon your recipe.. I totally burned my pecans because I got distracted watching funny videos….so I ended up using walnuts and I am so glad I did. They were sooooo good!
I heat sealed some and put them in the freezer. This recipe made 31 cookies (50 g each). Anyone looking for a good recipe, this is it!

I’m so glad you enjoyed these so much, Pam! I haven’t personally experimented with making these a chocolate, chocolate version so I would be hesitant to say how to do it. If you do try it I would love to know how it turns out. πŸ™‚

Really good, this recipe is a winner. Made them slightly smaller keeping the temp the same.
Question: Any ingredient suggestions on how to substitute to make this a chocolate chocolate chip cookie?

My family and I can’t get enough of these amazing cookies! they are SO good!! I substituted walnuts because I had no pecans and they were delicious! they were gone so fast I had to mange more in less than a week.
for my 2nd time round I used a small cookie scoop(1 1/2in diameter) and baking in my 325 degree convention oven for 8 min for perfect results
Definitely putting this recipe in my weekly rotation.

You can certainly make these smaller if you’d like. It’s really going to be a personal preference as to how big you make them. I haven’t tried making them smaller so I can’t say for sure how long to bake them. You will just want to keep an eye on them. πŸ™‚

I forgot to mention I got four dozen small cookies from one batch. Baked for 10-11 minutes.

I googled banana bread cookie not really thinking there was such a thing but thought it could work. I was surprised to find several recipes, but yours was the one I decided to try. Oh. My. Goodness. They were exactly what I thought a banana bread cookie should be. I little crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I used walnuts instead of pecans since that is what I had, and I added a bit of freshly grated nutmeg since I always add that to my banana bread. I also chilled the cookie dough for about three hours before baking because I didn’t have time to make and bake. The recipe is such a keeper and it’s in my “Recipes to Wow People” folder. Now I’m going to have to look at your other recipes. πŸ™‚

In reply to Emily @ Sugar Spun Run.

Thank you I tried the recipe and added the nuts but without carmelizing them. They were amazing and I loved the recipe.

Hi Jacey! Yes, but the cookies may spread more. If needed you can chill the dough.

Hi Jake! It’s hard to say without trying it ourselves; we’d recommend you just keep an eye on them and follow the same visual cues for knowing when they are done (lightly golden edges and slightly underdone centers). Enjoy!

Hi Hannah! Did you use salted butter by chance? If so you do need to adjust the salt added to the cookies. πŸ™

If using Morton salt, reduce the salt to half of a teaspoon, one teaspoon is very salty!
