Hi, I have tried making it once, and it turned out perfect. I did make half the amount of the icing. I think the icing is too sweet for my family’s preference but it’s sugar, so obviously it’s expected, so that’s not an issue. I just wanted to know if you think it’ll work out if I use biscoff cookie butter instead of peanut butter?

In reply to Brandi. Hi Brandi! It's not necessary to let the cake cool before adding the frosting. It's fine to add it to a warm cake. :)

In reply to Donna L. Donna, it’s for consistency. Salt levels vary widely in salted butter, so using unsalted butter lets you control exactly how much salt goes into the recipe. If salted butter is what you have, you can use it, but you will need to reduce or omit the added salt. I have a post that details everything you need to know about using salted vs unsalted butter.

Why does everyone say to use unsalted butter ( none in MY house) and then always tells you to add salt. Seems dumb.

In reply to Olivia. Hi Olivia! We haven’t tried making this as a layer cake, but others report doing so with success. You would just need to alter bake times for the pans you put it in

Fabulous recipe! I am thrilled with the results and will definitely be making again!

I loved how you set up the recipe, showing the ingredients again in each step, saving baker from scrolling back and forth. And appreciate that you also gave measurements in grams for weighing, my fav!

Made in 15×10 jelly roll pan. Took about 4 minutes more to bake than recipe indicated.

Cake gas great flavor and bakes up beautifully. The frosting however, was terribly greasy.
