I agree with Nancy… I have been staying away from any product with high fructose corn syrup for decades… I I will use a different barbecue sauce as well probably a homemade one that I trust that doesn’t have seed oils or corn syrups. However this recipe sounds amazing. Great job on putting it together. Will try it on my family this weekend.

Hi Nedra! It will thin out, but the chicken should be nicely coated and that flavor cooked into it a bit. I always top mine with a little extra sauce before eating. 🙂

I think I’ll try this with a fresh batch of your Homemade BBQ sauce. I’ve been looking for a good BBQ sauce recipe since I started reading the ingredients on the popular sauce labels and was very disappointed.

Hi Linda! I haven’t personally done it, but I don’t see any reason why it wouldn’t work. 🙂

Gina is not wrong. High fructose corn syrup is bad for us. Now that I am fighting cancer I read every label. I had to give up Sweet Baby Rays BBQ sauce, my favorite. Processed foods are full of sugars, chemicals, preservatives, etc. I had to find a better ketchup too. I now eat for life first then for pleasure. Please be kind.

Hi Nedra! We haven’t personally tried it, but others have reported success using thighs with a slightly shorter cooking time. ☺️

Easy and delicious! Just a heads up, readers: when the chicken initially finishes cooking the sauce will be very watery. But keep shredding your chicken to get that nice fine texture and it will soak up that sauce and be perfect.

Hi Amanda! I would probably use a little more than half of the ingredients listed. I’m not sure what a cook time would be.
