In reply to Lisa.

I use an offset spatula to spread the batter; that worked really well for me. (I love your comment that you “make and devour them” — and also that you share them with homeless friends. lovely!)

So easy and so much better than cookies. I took them to an event and people raved about them. Recipe requested by several. I will definitely make them again.

If you like shortbread cookies you will def like these!
Half the time and trouble of making cookies which I really liked.
The recipe is a keeper.

I have made these bars several times now because they are totally DELISH! They come together so easily that it’s become a go-to. I like to cut them into squares and then cut the squares into triangles. They look a little fancier that way. A snickerdoodle bar really saves my arthritic hands as well. No rolling!
Thanks for a great recipe, Sam!

Hi Cheyenne! It sounds like they may have been slightly under-baked. Did you use the toothpick test in the center to see if they were done?

Ive never made blondies. evidently they arent like brownies? Baked about 30 minutes… I always wonder if stuff is really done. it’s hard to tell with a whole pan of cookie. 🙃

thanks

These are very easy and quick to make, and they have a great texture! My only criticism of these is how sweet they are. The 2 cups of sugar in the batter coupled with the cinnamon sugar on the top was too sweet for me. Next time I’m going to lessen the sugar by 1/2 cup and see if that makes them better. If you are somebody who doesn’t enjoy super sweet desserts as much as most other people do, I would keep this in mind.

Also, these freeze great so if you aren’t making them for a big group and don’t want to have to throw them away or worry about eating them before they go stale, pop them in the freezer and take out a few to thaw as needed!

Thank you so so much for this recipe!
My brothers most favorite cookie is snickerdoodles
I was wondering if anyone ever made a brownie snickerdoodle, so when I found your recipe, I was over joyed.
When my brother had 1, that was it for the rest of his family. They had to bed him for more lol
These will now be made a whole lot more than the cookie
So easy to make, and less time in the kitchen making cookies
Thank you so much for this wonderful recipe
I am actually making some right now to take to my brother and hopefully his family members lol lol

In reply to Amanda Heaton.

These are a new staple in my house. So much easier than cookies and even more delicious. I’ve halved the recipe and baked them in an 8×8 pan and they came our great. I’ve also made them with oil and coconut milk to make them dairy free and they were delicious. I used 3/4 avocado oil and the same amount of milk as the recipe calls for.

I made a half batch and used a 8X8 glass baking dish. For the flour, I just went with 1 and 1/3 Cups, salt at 1/4 tsp, and everything else was easily halved. I eyeballed the milk and I threw a dash of cinnamon in the batter. Topped with Penzey’s cinnamon sugar and baked for 26 minutes til just cooked. These were amazing. As always, your recipes are spot on. Whenever I am looking for a recipe, I always come here first. Thanks you for your diligence.

Made these with browned butter and half brown sugar, plus a little nutmeg in the cinnamon sugar on top. Amazing!

The first two times I made these, the edges, and especially the corners, were chewy to the point of being tough. I finally figured out that I had overbaked them. Be sure to take these out as soon as there is no wet dough on the toothpick. They are very soft when hot, so don’t let that scare you. They cool to a perfect firmness, with deliciously chewy edges and corners. They freeze very well, too.

I have snickerdoodle obsessed nieces and nephews and sometimes I just don’t have time to make a batch of cookies. These come together so quickly, and are so yummy. I personally prefer them to the cookie version! And more importantly they are well received by the family!

I’m not sure how adding pudding mix would go here. I haven’t tried it. If you do try it, let me know how it goes. I hope everyone loves them! 🙂

I was invited to a cute baked goods potluck and was thinking about trying a new recipe. I love brownies but have always wanted to try blondies but a bit different, I thought of blondies and sugar cookies then landed on snickerdoodles and wondered had anyone done this before and found your recipe! I cannot wait to try it out, I also wondered if adding just a bit of vanilla pudding mix would take things even further!

I’ve found for mine that I can melt the oil (coconut in my case), add the milk while whisking, then add the sugar and it cuts down on the waiting period.

I’ve used multiple gf brands of flour and they’ve each worked out to this point. This is a huge hit everywhere we go. King Arther’s GF flour is the one we use most often. In case anyone needing to know doesn’t reach my comment at the bottom, we also have to make ours dairy free and these work well with coconut oil and olive oil instead of butter and we have to use almond milk. It’s rare to have a recipe work out with so many different substitutions and still be good.
