I’m amazed that I last made this sauce two years ago this month. The reason, though, is that I’ve been buying meatballs on sale, and using them with your wonderful marinara sauce.

I have this sauce simmering now, to use on fettuccine. I know it will be great, because I still remember it from two years ago. Thanks, Sam, for so many good recipes. Oh, and I’m making your German buttercream today for some cupcakes for a friend.

This was a super easy, quick, delicious recipe, even without the red wine which I didn’t have on hand and just used water. But I will definitely make again and try it with the red wine.

My family loved this recipe. I make a meat sauce often and wanted to try something a little different . They noticed and said to make it this way all the time.

I’ve made this several times, to the letter and loved it. Today, I used Sam’s Sausage Gravy tip of not draining the meat but adding flour. This worked realllllly well. I had to substitute 2T of tomato paste with beef bouillon paste and that worked great too! I left out the wine and water completely and didn’t miss it.

In reply to Nadine. Hi Nadine, something to note..the offset lid is key so steam escapes. Also when you take lid off to stir, try to keep the water/steam from lid from draining back into your pot.

In reply to Nadine. Hi Nadine! It shouldn’t be watery, may have just needed to cook a bit longer? Also you didn’t toss the pasta with oil before adding it to the pot, did you? Make sure you follow step 9 and cook long enough for the water to reduce and the sauce to cling to the noodles
