Hi Samantha! They are very similar recipes. The vanilla is a little sweeter and makes a little bit less. I would say the buttercream would be slightly more pipe-able. πŸ™‚

Are there any big differences between the two, especially in pipe-ability and taste? Thanks!

Hi Tammy! You can reduce the sugar, but the frosting will be a bit softer. πŸ™‚

Yes, just omit the additional salt in the recipe. Enjoy! 😊

I cut the recipe in half for a snacking cake and it was perfect! For liquid, I used a splash of buttermilk left over from the cake I was baking. The frosting tasted just like I hoped … not too sweet and not too buttery. My friends raved about it. Thank you for such a great recipe.

Hi Sheila! I would use the milk. You’ll want to use less as it’s much thinner than the heavy cream.

We’d recommend our chocolate frosting or fudge frosting instead πŸ™‚
